Karen

Karen always wanted to play the bagpipes.  She started in 2000on the Great Highland Pipes and  got her first pipes in 2002 and joined up with Feadan Or.   She also joined Gates Keystone Police Band and marched in parades with them for 3 years.  But playing the Great Highland Pipes was still a struggle.Then she was introduced to Scottish Small Pipes and she was smitten.  She started attending the summer workshops at the Piper’s Gathering. This inspired her to organize a group of small pipe players to play “just to have fun”… which led to the creation of Ceilidh Connection.  She has also attended the Vermont Bellows Pipes School and other workshops in Vermont.  She started out on John Walsh Shuttle Pipes, then bought  Ian Kinnear Scottish small pipes and is currently playing Hamish Moore Scottish small pipes.
